Heat Pump Climate Systems

The heat pump produces a considerable more amount of energy than it consumes. For every kilowatt-hour purchased you receive a free contribution from the Ground or Air comprising of a further three to five thermal kilowatt hours, which are available as heating capacity.

Which Heat pump to choose from

Ground Source (Geothermal)

  • Lowest possible running costs, even at very low outdoor temperatures.
  • Ideal for large building or new builds
  • This will suit premises with adequate access and land. We can call to site and assess suitability.
  • Certain heat pumps (1240 range) have an inbuilt hot water cylinder which results in decreasing the time spent on installation and plumbing.

Air to Water (Aerothermal)

  • This type of heat pump is ideal for retrofits or indeed is vertical/horizontal collector systems are not suitable.
  • Can collect heat from the air in temperatures as low as -7 degrees.
  • This system will have to be fitted with a small supplementary back up system for when there is no heat in the temperature outside for the heat pump to draw from.
  • Can be installed with existing oil/gas heating system in place, and use them as the supplementary back up system.

Exhaust-Air

  • Used in low energy homes up to 180m2. (not suitable or older or larger homes)
  • All in one solution for heating, hot water and ventilation.
  • Ideally matched for Century Homes, Viking, Kingspan Dryform, Huf-Haus Homes and many more.
Geothermal Heat Pumps

Types of collectors

Surface collector (horizontal) or Ground Loops

This type of collector harnesses direct or indirect solar energy from the soil. This is an extremely effective method due to Irelands surface soil temperature coupled with the levels of rainfall.

Borehole or vertical Collector

Vertical Collectors are ideal for smaller plots under c2 acres. It harnesses geothermal energy from bedrock and aquifers.

Ground water or Lake Collector

If groundwater is available and easily accessible, it can be utilised as a heat source due to the fact that it has a temperature of between 7 and 12 degrees all-year round.
